6. Natural Hazards

Wednesday March 21 @ 4.30pm AEDT. Register here, it's FREE.

Active plate tectonic processes bring with it a number of natural hazards. In the final presentation in this series, we explore the tectonic causes of these hazards, including earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, landslides, and more. By building up our understanding of how plate tectonics cause these hazards we are able to mitigate many of the risks posed by living in tectonically active areas.

The content covers the new Version 9.0 Australian Curriculum (Earth and Space Sciences), namely, AC9S8U03, AC9S8H01, AC9S8I01 (Year 8).

This webinar will take no more than 45-60 minutes of your time. Extra time for Q&A can follow as required.

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance from the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA) and access to the slide pack and a recording of the episode (with embedded videos).
